CaseFileXpress Launches eFiling to Texas Supreme Court and Court of Appeals

CaseFileXpress announces immediate access to its clients for eFiling to the Texas Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.

Irving, Texas – CaseFileXpress, a leading legal eFiling solution for attorneys announced today that eFiling is now available to the Texas Supreme Court and the First and Fourteenth Appellate Courts.

The Texas Supreme Court cleared the way for expansion into the upper courts earlier in March with the release of the eFiling amendments to the Texas Rules of Appellate ProcedureTexas Rules of Appellate Procedureexas Rules of Appellate Procedure. CaseFileXpress clients now have immediate access to eFile.

"More than 350 courts and 100 jurisdictions in Texas are now online since eFiling launched in the Fort Bend County Courts at Law in 2003. Having eFile access to the higher courts is a welcome addition," said Tammy Carter, CaseFileXpress General Manager. "As government and law firms look for operational efficiencies, eFiling is a natural solution."

For courts, eFiling improves efficiencies, provides for a more secure storage and back-up process, eliminates vulnerabilities that exist with paper, and ultimately saves money. Courts are not alone - eFiling saves money for attorneys as well. According to Time is Money: eFiling Saves Both, a case study conducted by CaseFileXpress, the average law firm saves more than $75 per filing by eFiling.

"This move by the appellate courts is an important step to expanding eFiling throughout Texas, clearing the way to the adoption of eFiling by all Texas courts, which will provide significant financial savings for the judicial system," said Justice Rebecca Simmons, Fourth Court of Appeals and Chair of the Judicial Committee on Information Technology (JCIT).
